About our FACE Walsall

What is a Parent Carer Forum?

Our aim is to improve services for children and young people by ensuring that families' voices are heard by planners and decision-makers across Education, Health, and Social Care.

We host events, workshops, and training sessions to empower parents and carers, helping them become a stronger voice for their children and young people.

We want to hear your views!

Placing the views of all parent carers at the centre of decision making

Together we can make a difference for families in Walsall.

Our mission

FACE Walsall Parent Carer Forum are committed to help change the services of young people (0 – 25 years) with Special Educational Needs in Education, Health and Social Care in the Walsall Borough.

The aim of the Parent Carer Forum is to enable parents and carers to share their knowledge of what works and what doesn’t work so well; and to help service providers and commissioners focus their efforts on effective, high quality support.

To help shape the services offered to our young people with Special Educational Needs we need members, membership is completely free and we offer events throughout the year for the whole family, like cinema viewings and family fun sessions.

Why your Voice Matters

As a parent/carer of a child or Young Person with SEND your lived experiences and views matter. Your voice reflects real life challenges and triumphs faced by families in Walsall and can help change services for the better.

Consultation and Feedback

We regularly conduct surveys, focus groups and feedback sessions to gather your experiences and views. Your feedback helps us to understand what is working well and what needs improving in the existing services.

Representation and Working Together

We represent parents/carers at local and national meetings making sure your concerns and suggestions are brought to the attention of those who make decisions. Working together with the Local Authority in Education, Health and Social Care services we share your lived experiences which can help shape services and training for professionals that are involved with the delivery of support to children and young people with SEND.
